Last year, Philly dance-rock outfit MINKA released the glammed-up pop jam “My Room,” a song we praised at the time for its healthy embrace of all things Bowie. Philebrity shared a new song from Church Girls today that features fellow locals MINKA. The recording took place at Miner Street Recording in January for a Weathervane Music Workshop and the result is a fully-harnessed sparkling pop / rock song about navigating the world post-break-up. There’s no shred of self-pity or wallowing though, as Mariel Beaumont attacks her lyrics with confidence as MINKA absolutely rip through the lush instrumental arrangements.
