DJ, producer, and multi-genre musician Flying Lotus has announced a Spring tour with a date at Union Transfer on Friday, April 26th with support from Teebs and Thundercat. Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 15th at Noon. Go here for tickets and more information. Born in Los Angeles, Flying Lotus (Steven Ellison) comes from an exceptional lineage of musicians. He was a great-nephew to Alice Coltrane, cousin of Ravi Coltrane and the grandson of Marilyn McCleod, who co-wrote “Love Hangover” by Diana Ross. With more than a handful of musical trailblazers in his family, Ellison has blazed his own trails with several releases including his 2012 mind (and genre) expanding avant-DJ record Until The Quiet Comes that included contributions from Erykah Badu and Thom Yorke of Radiohead. Flying Lotus is like the Ornette Coleman of DJ’s; this show promises to be fantastic.
