Philly indie rockers Goodnight Lights have released a captivating (though frightening) music video for their latest song “Yardwork.” Noted as one of the loudest bands in Philly by the bloggers at The Vinyl District, Goodnight Lights’ music is catchy, well-crafted and draws similarity to Arcade Fire and Radiohead. “Yardwork” is no exception in that regard. The new video, shot mostly outdoors in rural Bucks County, tells the dramatic tale of a prisoner’s failed attempts to escape from a sinister, rural medical facility. Ultimately, the prisoner meets his doom and, in a Shyamalan twist, becomes the scarecrow he was observing in the beginning of the video. Both the new video and music are decidedly darker than the band’s older works, especially compared to the video for “Convinced,” released earlier this year. Check out the video below and catch the band tomorrow night at Johnny Brenda’s.
