The majority of the music you’ll hear from Radio Ghost – a new collective made up of Philly MCs Yikes The Zero, Tommy Tucker, O-Severe and E. Grizzly – sounds like a cypher. It’s four artists with distinctive sounds coming together on each track to not only annihilate the beat but to also show who’s the better rapper. On their song “Brain Wreck,” these Philly natives are as hardcore as can be, giving you a sound similar to M.O.P. or N.W.A.. On the other hand, they have the ability to spit on tracks like “Drunken Phantoms,” which sounds like they got a beat from A Tribe Called Quest.

Whether they’ll rap off beats for backpackers or beats for the hardcore, Radio Ghost will display what a true MCs sound like with crowd-moving rhythms, dope lyrics and dark abstract beats. The band is gearing up to release its full length debut early next year, and the band opens for Cannibal Ox at Kung Fu Necktie on December 29th. For more information about the show click here.
