The Austin based singer and songwriter Gina Chavez performed at this past summer XPoNential Music Festival, as part of WXPN’s Latin Roots Live series. She’s returning to town this Sunday, November 8th for a show at the Trocadero Balcony stage.

Appearing with Chavez on the bill are the New York City based, world music influenced Karikatura, and Philly’s alt-Mexican band, Interminable. This year, Chavez – a bilingual Latin-folk singer/songwriter – won the prestigious Austin Musician of the Year at SXSW, and she’s been making her mark on music around the world with the release of her recent album, Up.Rooted.

Below, watch Chavez perform “Siete-D” from WXPN’s XPoNential Music Festival on VuHaus, and listen to music from the opening bands.
