Bethlehem alt-indie rock outfit Service Dog is back with a new single, “Coasters.” The duo of vocalist Leo Motolese and guitarist Wyatt Davidick is less than two years old, but has already made a mark on their local Lehigh Valley scene and has been playing shows throughout PA and Philly.
Service Dog’s debut album Hard Ground came out just last June, but the band couldn’t stand to go a year without releasing something new. “Coasters” sees them moving into a sparser, more delicate sound, painting a picture of contemplative loneliness as the band sings, “Go on, I can’t go on like this.” It’s anything but gloomy, though, as the stirring acoustic guitar and echoey vocals lend a sense of calm and comfort.
Service Dog plays this Friday the 21st at LVAC in Bethlehem, Pa with Arch of Love, then on Saturday June 22nd at the Sherman Showcase In Stroudsburg, Pa with 32 Pints. The band tells us they’ve also planned a show for late July with Small Mess and Beach Bod in Bethlehem, with details TBD on the band’s Facebook page.
