Love From Philly, a three-day virtual music and arts festival to raise money for local musicians and venue workers, kicks off this Friday and goes all weekend, with dozens of local artists participating. Each day’s livestream will feature a different “stage” to showcase the diversity of Philadelphia’s music scene, and performers include everyone from John Oates and Kurt Vile, to Ursula Rucker and Arnetta Johnson, to members of bands like The Districts and Dr. Dog.

Love From Philly will benefit local artists and entertainment professionals who have experienced medical, social and economic hardships due to the coronavirus pandemic by distributing all proceeds through micro grants. The festival is presented by 30amp Circuit, a local non-profit that promotes health and wellness for working musicians, and producing partners Craig Kaplan of Hashtag Multimedia and Our People Entertainment.

“The goal for Love From Philly is to bring help, hope, inspiration, resources and love to our entertainment and arts community who’ve been hit particularly hard in these difficult times,” says Kaplan. “One hundred percent of all proceeds will go directly to individuals and families that need it the most. Equally important, the event will provide a platform for our artists to be seen and heard at a time when our city needs them the most.”

Artists will perform from their homes and the festival will stream live at lovefromphilly.love. Set times will be announced soon, and the full lineup can be found below, along with an announcement video featuring G. Love playing “Philly Love.”
